Shelly Dimmer 2 is Shelly's new 2020 dimmer light control WiFi smart controller product, new version of Shelly Dimmer. It uniquely features the option to operate it with live wire only, without a neutral wire!

Overheating and overconsumption protection: Internal temperature sensor for overheating protection. If the PCB temperature goes above a danger level, the device will turn off. Dmmer 2 will turn off the circuit immediately if it detects a consumption higher than the defined ower-power setting.

Shelly Dimmer has been designed for installation in a limited space, such as wall mounts, electrical control panels behind wall switches. Works with traditional on/off wall switches.
With Shelly Dimmer 2 you can use incandescent and halogen lights: 10-220W, dimmable LED lights: 50-200VA / 10W – 200W or resistive-inductive loads: ferromagnetic transformers 50-150VA.
No HUB or gateway required – Connect Shelly Dimmer 2 directly to your Wi-Fi at home. How to connect Shelly Dimmer 2?
Standard wiring with neutral
*When using the device without neutral, Shelly Dimmer 2 requires at least 10W of power consumption to operate. If the connected light has a smaller power consumption, then Shelly Bypass is needed for the device to work.
Standard wiring with neutral and SW connected to neutral
No neutral wiring with no minimum load requirements
* "Bypass" module is not part of the product and is not available yet.

Shelly Dimmer 2 comes with a programming/debug header which can be used to flash alternative firmware on the device. It has an ESP8266 inside, with a 4MB flash chip. A USB-to-UART adapter is needed as well as a reliable 3.3V with at least 350 mA drive capability.
