The TuyaSmart 1CH 7V–32V RF Tuya Smart Wi-Fi Relay Module is a universal DIY smart relay designed for making various electrical devices smart. It supports Wi-Fi, 433 MHz RF communication, scheduling, inching, and self-locking modes. Daily or weekly schedules and countdown timers can also be configured.
It is an ideal solution for remote control of gate locks, electrically operated gates, PC power supplies, and similar devices. For motor control applications where two-way or multi-directional movement is required, the 2-gang or 4-gang version of the product is needed.
The Wi-Fi smart relay requires a 5V USB power supply or 7–32V AC/DC input voltage for operation, while it can also switch loads up to 220V AC. The switched circuit is independent from the relay’s own power supply. The relay can switch 90–250V AC / 10A or 0–30V DC / 10A connected to the COM input, in either NO or NC mode. It is also suitable for voltage-free, dry contact switching.
The module can be switched to inching mode, where it opens the circuit after 1 second of switching, or closes the circuit again after a 1-second interruption. Installation requires electrical knowledge, so it is mainly recommended for experienced DIY users or professional installation. Through the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, the relay can be remotely controlled, scheduled, and automated.
Thanks to the built-in 433 MHz RF receiver, the module can be controlled not only from a phone, but also with compatible 433 MHz remote controls, such as Sonoff RF R2 or SmartWise RF4P. With voice control support, the relay can also be switched from Amazon Alexa and Google Home systems.
The product operates in two main modes: normal switching and inching. The operating mode can be changed in the app.
Both NO and NC control wiring are supported. The relay has three connection points: COM, NO, and NC.
- COM: the input, or the common pole for both NC and NO wiring
- NO: Normally Open
- NC: Normally Closed
When using NO and COM wiring, the circuit is open by default, and when the relay is switched, the circuit between COM and NO closes.
When using NC and COM wiring, the circuit is closed by default, and when the relay is switched, the circuit opens. This wiring is used, for example, with some electric gate openers where the gate opens when the circuit is interrupted.
