The SONOFF MINI ONE PM (MINI-1GSP) is a flush-mounted, 1-gang Matter over Wi-Fi smart switch with power monitoring. It operates on a single-phase 100–240 V AC supply and supports a maximum rated current of 16 A for resistive loads. Its built-in relay switches the connected load, while the device measures voltage, current, instantaneous power and energy consumption.

The device also supports bidirectional energy metering, allowing you to monitor energy flowing back towards the grid as well as consumption, for example when measuring the generation of a small solar power system. The eWeLink platform provides real-time readings, energy and cost graphs, historical data and data export. The manufacturer specifies cloud storage for up to one year of energy data. Data generated while offline is stored locally and synchronised when the connection is restored.

The MINI-1GSP features native Matter over Wi-Fi support, allowing it to be added to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant. ON/OFF control is generally supported on Matter platforms, while energy consumption data is available in SmartThings and Home Assistant according to the manufacturer's current compatibility table.

The device also features the SONOFF OpenEdge local web interface and a local API based on JSON-RPC 2.0. It can be integrated with Home Assistant, OpenHAB, ioBroker, Node-RED and other systems via HTTP, WebSocket and MQTT interfaces. The local web interface and MQTT integration can also be used in LAN-only environments.

About SONOFF

SONOFF manufactures smart home devices, relay modules, energy meters, wall switches, Zigbee sensors, control panels, gateways and various electrical installation accessories. Its product range includes devices using Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Matter and LAN communication.

SONOFF devices are primarily based on the eWeLink platform, but many products can also be integrated with Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, SmartThings, Alexa, Google Home and other smart home systems. In addition to residential smart home solutions, the manufacturer's range includes DIN rail-mounted devices, energy monitoring solutions and products suitable for professional installation.

Key product features

  • Matter compatibility: Native Matter over Wi-Fi support allows the device to be added directly to Matter-compatible smart home systems from multiple manufacturers.
  • Power monitoring: Measures voltage, current, instantaneous power and energy consumption in real time.
  • Bidirectional energy metering: Energy consumed and energy fed back into the grid can be tracked separately, making the device suitable for applications such as monitoring solar power generation.
  • SONOFF OpenEdge: The device can be configured, monitored and controlled through a web browser on the local network.
  • Open local API: Supports a JSON-RPC 2.0 interface over HTTP, WebSocket and MQTT connections.
  • Electrical protection features: Overcurrent, overload, overvoltage and undervoltage protection can be configured, allowing the relay to disconnect the load when a preset limit is reached.
  • Compact design: The 39.5 × 33 × 16.8 mm enclosure is designed for indoor flush-mounted installation.

Smart home protocols and platform compatibility

  • Wi-Fi: Connects to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network using the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n standard.
  • Matter over Wi-Fi: Can be integrated into compatible Matter platforms as a native Matter device.
  • Apple Home: Supports ON/OFF control, voice control and automations via Matter.
  • Google Home: Supports ON/OFF control, voice control and automations via Matter.
  • Amazon Alexa: Supports ON/OFF control, voice control and automations via Matter.
  • Samsung SmartThings: Supports ON/OFF control, automations and energy consumption data via Matter.
  • Home Assistant: ON/OFF control and energy consumption data are available via Matter. Integration via MQTT is also supported.
  • eWeLink: The app provides switching, power monitoring, scheduling, energy and cost data, protection settings, external switch input configuration and various additional functions.
  • MQTT: An external MQTT connection can be configured in the OpenEdge interface to integrate the device with local systems.
  • HTTP and WebSocket: The JSON-RPC 2.0 API is also accessible over HTTP and WebSocket connections.
  • OpenHAB, ioBroker and Node-RED: The device can be integrated with third-party automation and smart home systems via its local APIs.
  • LAN control: The eWeLink app can also communicate directly with the device on the same local network, bypassing the cloud.

Smart features

  • Remote ON/OFF control: The relay state can be checked and changed from the eWeLink app and through compatible integrations.
  • Energy consumption data: Real-time voltage, current and power readings can be displayed, along with operating time and cumulative energy consumption.
  • Energy history: Energy consumption can be tracked using historical graphs. The manufacturer specifies cloud storage for up to one year of energy data.
  • Offline data logging: If the internet connection is lost, energy data continues to be stored locally and is synchronised again when the connection is restored. No data is recorded while the device has no power.
  • Data export: Historical energy data and electricity cost data can be exported for further analysis.
  • Electricity cost tracking: A custom currency and electricity tariff can be set, which eWeLink uses to calculate costs and display them in graphs.
  • Scheduling: The relay can be switched on or off automatically at preset times.
  • Countdown timer: A delayed ON or OFF action can be set.
  • Inching mode: The device can automatically switch the relay on or off after a specified period.
  • Run Completion Alert: If power consumption remains below the configured power threshold for a specified period, the system can interpret this as the end of operation and send a notification or switch off the load.
  • Maintenance reminder: The system can track operating time at high power levels and send a notification when the configured maintenance interval is reached.
  • Power curve: Changes in consumption and power can be recorded and displayed over a specified period.
  • Group control: Multiple devices of the same type can be grouped and controlled in sync.
  • Device sharing: The device can be shared with other eWeLink accounts.
  • Status log: A history of device state changes and switching events can be viewed.
  • Push notifications: Notifications can be sent for ON/OFF status and energy consumption events.
  • Power-On State: The relay state after mains power is restored can be configured.
  • LED modes: The status indicator can be set to Auto, Off or Night Mode.
  • OTA firmware updates: Firmware can be updated via eWeLink. For Home Assistant, the manufacturer's current compatibility table also lists support for OTA updates via MQTT.

Electrical features

  • Supply voltage: 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
  • Rated current: Up to 16 A with resistive loads.
  • Number of controlled circuits: One switched circuit.
  • Relay output: Features one relay output. The two L Out terminals belong to the same relay output and are internally connected.
  • Two L Out terminals: The two output terminals simplify wiring; they do not increase the number of switchable circuits or the rated load capacity.
  • Neutral wire: A neutral wire is required for operation.
  • Power monitoring: Measures voltage, current, instantaneous power and energy.
  • Bidirectional metering: Energy consumption and grid feed-in can be measured separately.
  • External switch input: Features one S1 input for connecting an external wall switch or push-button.
  • External switch types: Both two-position switches and momentary push-buttons can be used.
  • Switch modes: Pulse, Edge and Following modes can be configured for the external switch.
  • Detach Relay: The external switch input can be decoupled from relay operation, allowing switch events to be used in automations without directly switching the relay.
  • Overcurrent protection: The device can disconnect the load if the configured current limit is exceeded.
  • Overload protection: The relay can be switched off if the configured power threshold is exceeded.
  • Overvoltage and undervoltage protection: Upper and lower voltage limits can be configured.
  • Automatic reconnection: The OpenEdge interface lets you configure automatic resumption of operation once the mains voltage returns to the appropriate range.
  • Upstream protection: The manufacturer requires a 16 A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) or residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) to be installed upstream of the device.
