The SONOFF Bridge Max (Bridge-M) is a multi-protocol Zigbee 3.0 gateway and Matter Bridge with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, BTHome, and eWeLink-Remote support. It can be used for centralized management of Zigbee devices, exposing different device types to Matter platforms, and creating a local security system.
The Bridge-M is the next-generation model of the SONOFF Zigbee Bridge Pro (ZBBridge-P). Compared to its predecessor, it adds Matter Bridge functionality, a local web interface, MQTT-based Home Assistant integration, an RJ45 Ethernet port, and dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 support. The built-in 90 dB siren and Zigbee-based local security functions remain available, while the manufacturer recommends using up to 128 Zigbee devices for stable operation.
In addition to directly paired Zigbee devices, the Matter Bridge function can expose BTHome sensors, eWeLink-Remote controllers, supported devices linked to the eWeLink account, and Home Assistant entities to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, and other Matter-compatible systems. The Bridge-M is a Matter Bridge and does not provide standalone Matter Controller functionality, so a separate Matter Controller is required in the target system.
The local web interface can be accessed over the LAN without using cloud services. It is primarily intended for adding devices and configuring the Matter Bridge and does not include direct device control. The network connection can be established through RJ45 Ethernet or 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

- Matter Bridge: Exposes supported functions of added non-Matter devices to the target platform as standardized Matter device types.
- Matter Controller required: To use the Bridge-M Matter Bridge function, a compatible Matter Controller such as Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, or another Matter Controller is required on the same local network.
- BTHome: Used to discover Bluetooth Low Energy-based BTHome sensors and forward their data.
- eWeLink-Remote: Supports Bluetooth-based eWeLink-Remote sub-devices such as SONOFF S-MATE and R5 controllers.
- Wi-Fi: Supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax on 2.4 and 5 GHz networks.
- Ethernet: 10/100 Mbps RJ45 network connection.
- eWeLink: The app can manage Zigbee sub-devices, security modes, scenes, Matter Bridge connections, notifications, and gateway settings.
- Apple Home: Supported devices can be exposed to Apple Home through the Matter Bridge.
- Google Home: Supported functions of bridged devices can be controlled in Google Home.
- Amazon Alexa: Voice control and automation of supported devices are available through the Matter Bridge or eWeLink account linking.
- Samsung SmartThings: The Bridge-M can be added to SmartThings as a Matter Bridge.
- Home Assistant: Can expose Zigbee sub-devices to Home Assistant via MQTT and bridge Home Assistant entities to Matter platforms.
- MQTT: The Bridge-M can expose supported entities of managed Zigbee devices to Home Assistant over MQTT.
- IFTTT: Can be connected to supported automations through an eWeLink account.
- Local web interface: Accessible on the local network at bridgem.local or via the gateway's IP address.
Smart Features
- Zigbee device pairing: New Zigbee sub-devices can be added through the local web interface or the eWeLink app.
- Matter Bridge: Compatible Zigbee devices paired with the Bridge-M, supported devices linked to the eWeLink account, eWeLink-Remote controllers, BTHome sensors, and Home Assistant entities can be exposed to Matter platforms.
