The Shelly 1-Channel Decoupler 230V is a compact isolation module that generates a safe, low-voltage DC trigger signal from an existing 230 VAC signal (e.g., wall switch, relay output). This allows AC-side control elements to drive the DC inputs of Shelly devices, while optical isolation (optocoupler) protects smart devices from mains voltage.
It is ideal for retrofits: your existing 230 V wall switch can remain in place, but the signal will be routed to the DC inputs of Shelly Plus/Pro RGBW controllers to control LED strips, scenes, brightness, or colors. The module is available in a single-channel version and requires wired installation.
Compatible with, among others, Shelly Plus RGBW PM, Shelly Pro RGBWW PM, Shelly Plus Uni, and Shelly Plus Add-on devices, as well as various external controllers (push buttons, switches, specialized sensors).
About Shelly
Shelly is the smart home brand of Shelly Group. Its portfolio includes Wi-Fi relays, dimmers, meters, sensors, and professional DIN-rail solutions that offer easy installation and reliable automation in home and semi-professional environments.
Key Product Features
- AC→DC signal conversion: produces a low-voltage DC trigger from a 230 VAC input for Shelly devices’ digital inputs.
- Optical isolation: the optocoupler solution electrically separates the mains and low-voltage sides.
- Ideal for retrofits: safely forwards the signals of existing 230 V wall switches and relays to DC inputs.
- Wide compatibility: works with Shelly Plus RGBW PM, Shelly Pro RGBWW PM, Shelly Plus Uni, and Shelly Plus Add-on.
- Single-channel design: generates one DC trigger from one AC signal.
Smart Home Protocols and Platform Compatibility
- Type: passive, wired add-on module (non-networked).
- Compatibility: Shelly Plus RGBW PM, Shelly Pro RGBWW PM, Shelly Plus Uni, Shelly Plus Add-on; also suitable for forwarding signals from various external controllers (switches, push buttons, specialized sensors).
- Operation: actual control/automation is handled by the connected Shelly device.
Smart Features
- Safe trigger: passes the physical 230 VAC switching event as a DC trigger to the Shelly device input.
- Scenes and control: the connected Shelly (e.g., RGBW controller) can set light, brightness, colors, or scenes based on the incoming trigger.
- Flexibility: suitable for translating AC outputs from external sensors (PIR, microwave, gesture, light sensor) into DC inputs.
